When constructing roads and railways, coarse sand and gravel, typically in the form of super-granite renowned for its exceptional rigidity, are employed as ballast. In terms of crushing this material, a strategic approach is adopted, with the jaw crusher serving as the initial, powerful stage to break down the large pieces. Subsequently, the cone crusher takes over at the second or third stage, refining the crushed material further to ensure optimal consistency and performance in the ballast layer.
